Word on the street is that China's digital yuan is now riding into its next phase. Buses in Guangzhou now accept e-CNY via its app and a QR code on the payment point. The subway lines in the city of Ningbo are also on the e-CNY pilot test. Despite being hostile to Bitcoin and especially crypto mining, China's official digital currency has been used to process more than 4 million transactions as of last month, worth more than $100 million since it became legal tender.

September 6 is the date to mark now for the first step of Ethereum's transition to proof-of-stake (PoS). The Ethereum Foundation announced that the Bellatrix upgrade will kick off at 11:34:47 am UTC on the 6th, after which the Merge process will continue and is expected to finish as early as September 10 or at least by September 20.

Cardano is also moving towards a major upgrade, and its principal developer, IOHK, released a status update yesterday. Despite strong growth in 2021 and a solid technological foundation, ADA has lost much of its gains along with the rest of the market this year, and is currently just one-sixth of its $3.10 all-time-high from a year ago. Analysts say this could be the sweet-spot time to buy now, as the market dribbles back up and down.
